Obituary of Eric Zachary Marks

Eric Zachary Marks, 35, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Mercer, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel A. Marks, James E. Wygal and Jack D. Hedglin, as well as his uncle, Robert Yoho.
He is survived by his parents, Richard G. Marks of Mercer, and Amy Bennett of Erie, Pa., as well as his biological parents, John and Heather Hedglin of Grove City. In addition to his fur babies, Pointy and Sydney, he leaves behind a partner of eight years, Christofer Ango, of Charlotte, formerly of New Castle. 
He is also survived by grandparents, Gloria Mae (Peg) Wygal, Eleanor R. Hedglin and Mary Jane Marks; siblings Natalie Marks (Michael Sankey), Gregory Marks (Justine Ferguson) and Samantha Marks; aunts and uncles, Samuel and Laura Marks, Laurie and Michael Gill, Robert Marks, Krystal Wygal (Patrick Philson), James and Eric Kinman-Wygal, Rebecca McNulty, and Joanne and Dennis Weaver. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
An avid music lover, Eric loved a variety of music and had the singing voice of an angel. He had a big heart with a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his natural ability to find humor in any situation. He found laughter to be the best medicine and enjoyed seeing smiles on faces of those that he touched. He had an indescribable way of making friends and carrying on conversations with people for hours. His meticulous attention to detail was like no other, particularly with grammar and punctuation, be it with a news story, social media post, or another obituary. He truly made the best out of any situation.
He belonged to Temple Beth El, a Reform Jewish Temple in Charlotte, where he attended Shabbat services and performed in the Temple Beth El High Holy Days Choir. He truly felt a part of a community.
He was huge animal lover who cared for and loved his fur babies. He enjoyed spending time with them and enjoyed fulfilling their endless desire for attention and walks.
He enjoyed many comedies, theater productions and enjoyed sharing the quotes of his favorite movies or TV shows with others. He loved to stay current on world news. He enjoyed baking and cooking and was known for his fabulous Chicken Alfredo. He enjoyed traveling the world and made it possible for many others to do the same. He encouraged everyone that life is too short to not see all the world has to offer.
Most recently, Eric worked as a Realtor/Broker for Keller Williams Realty in Charlotte, although he worked for several years in a variety of positions in the aviation industry as a leader and as a mentor. His passion and knowledge for the aviation industry helped him train and inspire many others to carry on his passion in their careers.
His charming, positive energy touched many people who will never forget his mesmerizingly blue eyes. He would encourage his friends and family, among many others, to lived a long, happy life and not sweat the small things. He would encourage everyone to find a job they love, travel the world, and never stop laughing. Always remember, your dreams can come true as long as you put your mind to it and never give up.
An avid animal lover, he would encourage donations be made to the Charlotte Humane Society or to the animal charity of your choice.
A gathering of friends and family was held Sunday, July 8, 2018 at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 144 S Pitt St., Mercer, PA.
