Lynda - I was so sorry to hear about Milt. He was a great man, so friendly and caring to everyone - I always enjoyed his visits to my office - he brightened our days and brought joy and good humor to everyone!! He was a very good friend and I always enjoyed seeing you and Milt out and about. I know he will be missed by so many - including myself and he truly lived everyday to the fullest! I am so sorry and regret that I was unable to attend Milt's visitation and his funeral - I would have loved to see you, Lynda. I was very excited to hear that y'all had moved to the beach and had 5 wonderful years together there.
Hope we'll see each other sometime soon and want you to know you are in our prayers during this sad time. With caring love, Tim Richards

I called many a high school basketball game with Milt. He was a joy to travel with to games--he introduced me to Bridges BBQ in Shelby!! When you arrived at the gym with Milt you were guaranteed to leave that night with new friends because he knew everybody there. The picture in the obit is perfect, too. That's the smile I always saw and that's how I want to remember him. Thank you God, for the life of Milt Villas. Please give comfort to his grieving family.

Milt Villas probably 35 years ago or more. My Mentor. Officiating has a bond of brothers like no other. Milts Friday night Pre-game talk " No one came here to see us work the game. Work the game where no one remembers the officiating". " We 6 are the only friends each other have here, take care of each other". Honored and Blessed to have known you Milt, thanks for taking me under your wing. Love you.

Dear Lynda
Your call letting us know of Milt’s passing could not have come as a greater shock. We were both in disbelief. Milt has always been of high energy and full of life. Nothing prepared us to hear he had suddenly passed.
Now, after we reflect on time’s gone by, there are sooo many great memories of times spent together. And of many of those times, there is one thing that always rang true. Whenever we all went to dinner, or, any other gathering for that matter, it never ceased to amaze us as to how many people Milt either knew, or, if he didn’t know someone, he would strike up a conversation and end up knowing someone they knew...”by name!”
We all know the “six degrees of separation.” If you were lucky enough to have known Milt, five of those six were already covered! If you wanted to talk with the Dali Lama, the President of any Country, Stephen Hawkins, Celine Dion etc etc....I have no doubt Milt could have picked up the phone and dialed them straight in! Milt was a friend to all...or became their friend, just by simply walking by. Within a couple minutes, he’d know where they had gone to school, who their teachers were, what sports they played, and, somewhere in that conversation, he’d know someone they knew, by name, and be able to talk with them with personal details of that other person.
To know Milt was to love Milt. A truly great guy who will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Know we love you, always will.
Jack and Shari

Dearest Lynda, and family,
My thoughts have been with you daily as I am aware of how busy your recent days have been. We know that our husbands belong to God first and it is truly a time of celebration for Milt. However, the Lord God also allows us our time of mourning as well. What a wonderful treasure of memories you have in your Christian marriage to such a blessed man of God. Living without Steve has been the most difficult thing I have ever had to do on this earth. The coming days when things quiet down will begin your journey of great change in your life. Be vigilant, as this will be a time of deepened faith and importance of purpose for the Lord God and Jesus Christ. Let nothing steal your joy! as the Holy Spirit guides you and comforts you in the great adventure of this next phase of your life on this earth. During my prayer time for you and the family, I kept seeing Mabel's (your Mom) beautiful face. I know she is very proud of you and this is just another step closer to having her family in God's heaven. I pray the Holy Spirit will bring all your family members even closer to Him in the Chistian legacy that Milt has left for all who have known him. I am sorry to say I have no back-up on my job for Friday, so as of this moment I will not be able to go to Charlotte. If the funeral had been on Saturday it would have been different. Steve and I love you, and you shall be special in my daily prayers for a long time to come. Much love in Christ, Shelby.

Shocked to hear my good friend going all the way back to 1951 passed away. We had many fun and sometimes times mischievous times as teenagers, as it was a different time then. In recent years, up until 2009 , we would get together for lunch as my business travels took me to Charlotte. Susan and I had he and Lynda here at our house for a visit and wanted to visit them in Myrtle Beach.
He was always interested in what was going on with both our families, and he and Bill Caldwell and I really enjoyed our time together as we aged.
He will be sorely missed and we send our heartfelt condolences to Lynda and all the family. Will miss you 'FactoryPound ' !!!

Milt was a great friend and we have lost another one of the midwood boys.
Milt always had a big smile and a warm heart for anybody he met and if he
was your friend you had a friend for life.
We talked alot by phone the last few years and had lunch just a month ago in Charlotte.
I have known Milt since 1954 and he was the same then as he was till his passing.
We talked just a few weeks ago and had a few laughs and now he is the place that he always
wanted to be in the end.
He leaves behind many friends and wonderful wife Linda and family.
RIP my good friend and will see you again.

together and shared pride in our families.
You were there spiritually for me when I lost my daughter , offering support and prayer.
My friend, I will miss you but look forward to reuniting once more.

Carol and I are very saddened to hear of Milt’s passing. We extend our deepest sympathy to all the Villas’ family.
Milt was a class guy. He took me under his wing when I was a rookie official and taught me the ways of the officiating world. Milt would spend countless hours after the game we officiated providing me, shall we say ‘guidance’, on the things I did right during the game as well as the not so good items. He did it in a way that made me feel very comfortable and I learned a lot from Milt.
I have told numerous officials of the adventures that Milt and I shared while officiating games. Many of our adventures still make me laugh today when I recall them. Those were very special times I will never forget.
I am honored and blessed to have known Milt. He was truly a blessing in my life and I will miss him.
Our condolences,
Rodney and Carol
