Obituary of Herman Bangle Stutts

On Sunday, August 30, 2020 Herman Bangle Stutts Sr. husband and father of five passed away at home at the age of 91.  He was born on January 18, 1929 in Charlotte, NC to Mincie B. and Ellis L. Stutts.  

 

Herman served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt.  He attended Charlotte Tech High School and graduated from Burton Institute of Business.   Herman retired from Newco Fiber Company after 47 years of service.  He was very devout in his faith.   He was a member of Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church for 30 years and served as a Deacon.   Later he and his wife changed their membership to Matthews United Methodist Church.  

 

Herman was an avid sports enthusiast.  He was a founding member of Carolina Golf and Country Club.  His passions were playing golf and spending time with his wife and family.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wallace D. Stutts, Glenn W. Stutts and Robert E. Stutts, sister Doris Shouse and son Herman Stutts Jr.  He is survived by his wife Barbara Howard Stutts, sons Richard Howard Stutts, Thomas E. Stutts and spouse Mel, daughters Melody Ann Bradshaw and husband Kenneth, Evelyn Sue Owen and husband Robert, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  A graveside service will be Thursday, September 3rd @ 10:00am at Evergreen Cemetery, the Pastor Chuck Wilson presiding.
