So many memories and not a bad one among them. Pat has been my friend for nearly 30 years. In fact he is my first friend when I moved to Charlotte in August of 1992. Four memories stick out: 1. Going over on Halloween sharing some beers while sitting out front passing out the candy to trick or treaters and sharing a beer with the parents that came by with their kids. It became an annual thing we did for a few years. 2. Going to Ed’s with Pat many times. On one particular summer night we were sitting out front when a woman drove up needing help with some gas because her son had taken her wallet. Pat wasn’t moving too good that particular time so I went in her car and put some gas for her to get home. Whatever I helped her with Pat got on me for not filling her tank. She gave me her contact info and told me I should contact her and she would pay me back. Pat insisted I did and we bet the next tab at Ed’s whether she paid me back. I won that bet and did not ever hear from her again. However she did give me her real name and we had learned she had been convicted of a major driving violation and had served time for it. 3. Road-trip to Bristol for the NASCAR Spring race in March 2006. We met up with one of my College friends and his wife who came in from Wisconsin. This was the snow delayed race at Bristol but beyond that Pat and my friend John got along like they were lifelong friends. When I was with Pat we often gave John a call and the twos of them kept in touch since. 4. Probably the most memorable memory is Pat called the school I worked at and told the secretary he was my Probation Officer and that if I didn’t get in touch with him that he was coming there to take me into custody. He had her going for a bit too! He was then forever known as “my Probation Officer”. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

+ 1
Pat and I first met in Jr.High. In the seventh grade we eyed each other with suspicion. By the eighth grade we had become close friends. That friendship has lasted ever since and I will miss Pat immensely. He was like a brother and we spent a great deal of time in each others company. As we got older we did not see each other so much but we did stay in regular contact.

As the yankee-born younger cousin, I was at Pat's mercy until learning to say "ya'll" while tagging along with him and Karla at Granny Little's or at the River. He taught me to swim - not voluntarily - by tossing me off the floating dock. His efforts to teach me to ski weren't as successful, but he was always, always, ready to help, usually with a twinkle in his eye. We will miss you dearly, Pat. Say hi to all the family for us. Sending love and comfort to your family through laughter-filled memories. Love, Daryl

I have many memories as a kid being around Pat, most of my favorite have to be the noogies he would give me and my brother, but also his jokes. One has stuck with me for many years and I'll NEVER forget it! May be a little inappropriate, but if you knew Pat, nothing was off limits! Joke says: "What cha doing? , eating chocolate, where'd ya get it? Doggie dropped it." To this day, I still say this joke to my kids. Pat was such a fun loving guy, the jokes were a bonus. My prayers are with the family. May you rest in peace.

Pat & I shared multiple good times as high school classmates - his sense of humor memorable especially as we shared NJROTC experiences at MP. His obituary reflects an authentic life well-lived, complete with a supportive & loving family extending well beyond him, thankfully. He advances into the Happy Hunting Grounds of eternity smiling into his Creator’s embrace. Thanks, Pat for your partnership. - BruceChapman MPHS ‘71
