I am so honored to have spent my time with Ray when he was sitting in my chair. He was always so positive about his illness, always looking forward.

I am saddened to learn of Ray’s passing. We practiced together in New Bern and I experienced firsthand Ray’s intellect, dedication and compassion. He was a cheerful person and a delight to be around. Sarah worked briefly one summer for my firm in Raleigh a number of years ago when I last saw Ray. RIP my friend

Nothing made my Saturday brighter than the chance to have a chance lunch with Ray and Bonnie at Jason’s deli. Heaven has an amazing, funny Angel.

~ Ray was one of our closest friends and neighbors in New Bern. Our families grew together and we shared many wonderful memories. Fun, smart, witty, loyal, devoted, so down to earth…all of these describe my friend Ray. I can see his awesome smile and hear his laughter and it makes my heart smile. I’m so grateful God placed Bonnie and Ray in my life. Ray Hines left an indelible impression, and a wonderful legacy in his children. I’m all about looking forward to a heavenly reunion…and when the time comes I can’t wait to hug Ray’s neck. Sending big hugs and lots of love to Bonnie, Sarah and Matthew…Ray loved you all with all his heart. I love you and am keeping you close in prayer. ~ bonnie stroud
