June Brobst

Obituary of June Carole Brobst

June Carole Brobst, 83, passed from this life into the Glory of Heaven on January 30, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born on July 17, 1938 to Charles and Anne Delk in Charlotte, NC. Ms. Brobst lived in a variety of places during her lifetime, from North Carolina to Arizona, after marrying Robert (Bob) Haigler, an accomplished jazz pianist from Charlotte. They ultimately settled in Tucson with their daughters, and resided there until her husband's passing from cancer in 1983. In 1984, June returned to live in Charlotte. On the drive to North Carolina, she lost her eight year old daughter, Melissa in a tragic car accident. Through this tragedy, "Message from Melissa" was born, an organization that would warn of the dangers of drinking and driving. She and her daughter, Angela spoke together to not only warn people about drinking and driving, but about June's unbelievable forgiveness she gave to the woman who was responsible for the accident, later leading her to Christ as a result. They spoke at many events. Consequently, June was a guest speaker on the 700 Club with Sheila Walsh. She won an Angel Award for the Message from Melissa photo card that carried the message from Melissa's perspective. Besides being incredibly creative and intelligent, she taught her daughters how to be loving homemakers to their families, and above all, to stand on the word of God. She loved her family intensely, making every effort to make memories that would never be forgotten. She was active in her church and prison ministry, and passionate about her Christian faith, sharing the Gospel whenever she could. She was remarried in 2000 to Harry Melvin Brobst, now deceased, and together they enjoyed their retirement community in DeLand, Florida. June was a former member of Sheltering Arms Church in Fort Mill, and Fort Mill Church of God. She has finished her Earthly course and has entered into the eternal presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This is not the end, but the beginning, and while we will miss her dearly, we rejoice in knowing we will be reunited with her. She was truly priceless far above rubies, diamonds and pearls. There will never be any person who can take her place. June is survived by her daughters, Laura Cenzer and Angela (James) Mills; grandchildren Holly, Bethany (Joseph), Ryan, Joshua and Christine; and great-grandchildren Elise, Adeline, Ashlyn, Julia, Riley, Joshua Jr., Natalie, Matthew, Laila, CJ and Jackson, many nieces, nephews and countless friends, all of whom she loved dearly. It was her fervent hope that they would place their faith and trust in the Lord and love Him and each other deeply. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marjorie Roush. Due to health concerns and social distancing, there will be no indoor service. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, February 12 at 2:30 pm at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. Pastor Ron Lambright will officiate. Feel free to leave the family your condolences via the Tribute Wall provided.
