Obituary of Brunilda Perez

Brunilda "Bruny" Perez, 69, of Charlotte, NC, passed away June 23, 2022. Born September 21, 1952, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Vicente Ortiz and Esperanza Pagan. Bruny enjoyed cooking her famous Puerto Rican family recipes while entertaining her family and friends. In addition to entertaining, she enjoyed traveling to the mountains and returning to her beloved island for lechon. She was a friend to all who met her, and became the supporting confidant to many, lending her ear while providing guidance. Bruny married her high school sweetheart Eric, where they left Puerto Rico and moved to Rochester, New York, finally settling in Charlotte, NC. She worked at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, and Sunrise Senior Living in Charlotte before retiring. Bruny is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Eric Perez; daughter, Limary Laney, and husband Frank, sons, Eric Perez, Jr. and wife Brenda, and Joel Perez. In addition to those listed above, Brunilda is survived by her 8 siblings, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 23 nieces and nephews, and her beloved canine companion Tessa. Brunilda is preceded in death by her parents Vicente Ortiz and Esperanza Pagan, and sister Amalia "Mayin" Molina. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
