Obituary of Kenneth Paul Callaway

Kenneth Paul Callaway, 79, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on January 3, 2023, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Adkin and Hazel Callaway.

 

Born July 18, 1943, in New Orleans, Kenneth graduated from Jesuit High School in 1961 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Louisiana State University.

 

Over the 50 years of his professional career, Kenneth performed electrical engineering services for numerous companies: Bell Aerospace, Chrysler, Michoud, Waldemar S. Nelson and Co., Shell Oil, and Industrial Defenders. He was also part owner of Computerized Processes Unlimited. While at Bell Aerospace Kenneth helped design the first NASA space shuttle.

 

Kenneth was an avid fan of LSU and Saints football. His gentle, thoughtful demeanor will be missed by all who knew him.

 

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Poulard Callaway; daughters Michele Callaway Mangan (Stephen) and Lauren Callaway; and six grandchildren: Zachary, Joshua, Ruby, Lily, Grace, and Audrey.

 

Kenneth is also survived by his sister Gail Callaway Collier (Don); brother Lamar John Callaway (Maureen); sister-in-law Mary Poulard Grodsky (Mel); and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

An interment will be held graveside in New Orleans at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in late January.
